Chiefs posted a 41-19 win over Susquehanna<\/a> in a Lackawanna Football Conference game Saturday at William Emminger Memorial Field.<\/p>\nSusquehanna (0-4) drove to Lakeland\u2019s 36 on its first drive, but Luke McFarland intercepted a pass and returned it to the 47.<\/p>\n
On the Chiefs\u2019 first play of the drive, Pochas hit Chase Rosenkrans on a short out route. Rosenkrans turned up field and raced down the right sideline before cutting back to the middle for a 53-yard touchdown, giving Lakeland a 6-0 lead.<\/p>\n
Jacob Passiment intercepted a pass on Susquehanna\u2019s next possession, and Pochas again found Rosenkrans for a 30-yard gain down to the Sabers 1.<\/p>\n
Pochas scored on a sneak on the next play to push the lead to 13-0.<\/p>\n
Later in the first quarter, Rosenkrans returned a punt 29 yards to Susquehanna\u2019s 36. Six plays later, Pochas again scored on a 1-yard run to give Lakeland a 20-0 lead.<\/p>\n
In the first half, Lakeland (4-0) began four drives in Susquehanna territory and scored touchdowns on three of them.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll take that anytime,\u201d Lakeland head coach Dave Piwowarczyk said. \u201cAnytime you can get a short field, that\u2019s a win. That means were doing something correct on defense and the defense played really well today. They did a really good job of dropping into their zones and we picked a couple of passes off.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pochas hit McFarland for a 19-yard touchdown on Lakeland\u2019s next drive. Then, after forcing another punt, Rosenkrans returned the kick 51 yards for a touchdown.<\/p>\n
\u201cChase did a great job and our wall did a nice job setting it up,\u201d Piwowarczyk said.<\/p>\n
McFarland got his second interception on Susquehanna\u2019s next drive and ran 29 yards for a touchdown to give Lakeland a 41-0 lead.<\/p>\n
At times, Pochas also lined up at receiver and he caught two passes from Rosenkrans for 50 yards.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt makes it very hard to cover,\u201d Pochas said. \u201cWe can run the ball, we can throw the ball, put me out wide and Chase can throw the ball. It\u2019s a very hard thing to cover and control.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pochas finished with 130 yards passing and 17 yards on the ground.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s a stud athlete and he\u2019s a team player,\u201d Piwowarczyk said. \u201cLast year, Jackson was an All-Region defensive back and he could have been an All-Region receiver. At times, we\u2019re giving him the opportunity to play the position that he actually should be playing, but he\u2019s taking one for the team and playing quarterback for us and he\u2019s doing a phenomenal job.<\/p>\n
