History is getting a little more spirited this fall.<\/p>\n
Christ Church Burial Ground\u2019s Brew N\u2019 History Tour<\/a> returns Oct. 2 to 4, inviting guests to spend an autumn evening among some of Philadelphia\u2019s most famous residents while exploring the surprising role beer and drinking culture played in early American life.<\/p>\n The guide-led experience explores the intersection of colonial brewing, tavern culture, politics, and daily life in the early Republic. Guests will make five stops throughout the historic burial ground, with each story paired with a curated sampling of local craft beer connected to the historical figure or tale being shared at the gravesite.<\/p>\n Philadelphia was not only the cradle of American liberty, it was also one of the brewing capitals of the New World, organizers said. Taverns served as important gathering places for political debate and social life, while beer, cider, wine, and other drinks were woven into the everyday lives of colonial Philadelphians.<\/p>\n Brew N\u2019 History brings that culture to life through the people buried at Christ Church Burial Ground<\/a>.
