{"id":290561,"date":"2026-09-21T01:30:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-21T01:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/290561\/"},"modified":"2026-09-21T01:30:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-21T01:30:09","slug":"ref-gets-into-fight-at-philadelphia-youth-football-game-police-say-nbc10-philadelphia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/290561\/","title":{"rendered":"Ref gets into fight at Philadelphia youth football game, police say \u2013 NBC10 Philadelphia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An altercation between a referee and a spectator at a youth football game in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcphiladelphia.com\/tag\/philadelphia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Philadelphia<\/a>&#8216;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcphiladelphia.com\/tag\/roxborough\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Roxborough<\/a> neighborhood on Saturday ended with someone firing a gun, police said. <\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred at around 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, outside the Al Pearlman Sports Complex, police said. <\/p>\n<p>An altercation began on the field between a referee and a spectator before it moved into the street, where it escalated into a fight, police said. <\/p>\n<p>At some point, someone fired a gunshot, but it is unclear which person did it, police said. <\/p>\n<p>Video posted to Citizen showed police responding to the scene. <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/ref-shot.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tCitizenCitizen<\/p>\n<p>No injuries were reported, but the gunfire caused the altercation to end, police said.
