A 17-year-old boy was critically injured Sept. 20 when the Pennsylvania State Police said the E-bike he was driving collided with a car in Girard Township.<\/p>\n
The boy, whose name was not released, was rushed to UPMC Hamot by ambulance following the accident, which was reported Sept. 20 at about 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of West Lake Road and Nursery Road and Culbertson Drive.<\/p>\n
Updated information on the boy’s condition was not available from authorities Sept. 21.<\/p>\n
According to state police in Girard, a Volkswagen Passat driven by a 39-year-old Lake City man was traveling west on West Lake Road when an E-bike driven by the 17-year-old Lake City boy failed to stop at a stop sign while traveling south on Culbertson Drive. The E-bike crashed into the car and the 17-year-old boy was thrown from it, troopers reported.<\/p>\n
The driver of the Vokswagen and two passengers in it were not injured in the crash, according to state police.<\/p>\n
