PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A man has died after he was found shot inside a corner store in the Summerdale section of Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
It happened just before 9 p.m. Monday along the 800 block of Marcella Street.<\/p>\n
Police said the 18-year-old victim was found unresponsive inside the store, suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n
Investigators said approximately 26 shots were fired during the incident.<\/p>\n
“At least one casing is inside the store where we found the victim, and multiple shell casings are on the sidewalk and on the highway,” Chief Inspector Scott Small said.<\/p>\n
Authorities said two occupied homes were also struck by gunfire, though no injuries were reported inside either residence.<\/p>\n
“Bullets went through the properties, and they went through the second-floor front bedroom windows of both of these properties,” Small said.<\/p>\n
Police also discovered a stolen vehicle that had crashed into an unoccupied parked car near the shooting scene.<\/p>\n
“The engine is still running. The driver’s side front and rear doors were open as if somebody fled from that vehicle,” Small said.<\/p>\n
Police have not identified the victim. The employee of the corner store said the man frequented the business to play games of skill.<\/p>\n
Investigators have not determined what led to the shooting.<\/p>\n
No arrests have been made.<\/p>\n
