{"id":291819,"date":"2026-09-22T21:58:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-22T21:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/291819\/"},"modified":"2026-09-22T21:58:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-22T21:58:08","slug":"trib-hssn-pennsylvania-high-school-football-rankings-for-sept-22-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/291819\/","title":{"rendered":"Trib HSSN Pennsylvania high school football rankings for Sept. 22, 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following a couple of weeks of shuffling and turmoil, the Trib HSSN state rankings sailed much calmer waters in Week 4.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of Class A, the elite PIAA teams were a combined 24-1 with the lone loss coming in Class 3A when Propel Braddock Hills fell in a close game to Class 4A power McKeesport, dropping the Lions from No. 4 to No. 5.<\/p>\n<p>Class A saw some movement as former state champion Fort Cherry was upset and dropped out of the state rankings for the first time in years. Its spot was taken by unbeaten Line Mountain.<\/p>\n<p>Wilmington also lost, dropping from No. 4 to No. 5 after dropping a close contest to Class 2A No. 2 Farrell in a District 10 battle last week.<\/p>\n<p>There were no changes at No. 1 with Central Catholic in Class 6A, Pine-Richland in Class 5A, Shamokin in Class 4A, Northwestern Lehigh in Class 3A, Southern Columbia in Class 2A and Bishop Guilfoyle Academy in Class A all still on top of their classifications.<\/p>\n<p>There is one head-to-head clash of ranked teams in Week 4, coming in Class A as No. 2 Washington hosts No. 3 Clairton in a battle of District 7 powers.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the latest Trib HSSN rankings in each of the six classifications. Tteams are listed with overall record, last week\u2019s ranking and district.<\/p>\n<p>Class 6A<\/p>\n<p>1. Central Catholic (4-0) (1) (D-7): The Vikings defeated Norwin in Week 4, 54-17. They visit Seneca Valley on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>2. Harrisburg (4-0) (2) (D-3): The Cougars defeated Central Dauphin in Week 4, 48-6. They visit Altoona on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>3. State College (4-0) (3) (D-6): The Little Lions defeated Central Dauphin East in Week 4, 42-0. They host Cedar Cliff on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>4. St. Joseph Prep (2-1) (4) (D-12): The Hawks defeated Malvern Prep in Week 4, 12-7. They do not play this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>5. Bishop McDevitt (3-1) (5) (D-3): The Crusaders defeated Cedar Cliff in Week 4, 49-0. They host Cumberland Valley on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Out: None<\/p>\n<p>Class 5A<\/p>\n<p>1. Pine-Richland (3-1) (1) (D-7): The Rams defeated Mt. Lebanon in Week 4, 41-6. They host North Allegheny on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>2. Springfield-Delco (4-0) (2) (D-1): The Cougars defeated Penncrest in Week 4, 41-0. They host Upper Darby on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>3. Imhotep Charter (3-1) (3) (D-12): The Panthers defeated Belmont Charter in Week 4, 42-0. They host Abraham Lincoln on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>4. Southern Lehigh (4-0) (4) (D-11): The defending PIAA 4A champion Spartans defeated Wilson in Week 4, 48-0. They host Lehighton on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>5. Twin Valley (4-0) (5) (D-3): The Raiders defeated Manheim Central in Week 4, 39-0. They host Garden Spot on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Out: None<\/p>\n<p>Class 4A<\/p>\n<p>1. Shamokin (4-0) (1) (D-4): The Indians defeated Jersey Shore in Week 4, 35-14. They visit Central Mountain on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>2. General McLane (4-0) (2) (D-10): The Lancers defeated Oil City in Week 4, 23-0. They visit Corry on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>3. West York (4-0) (3) (D-3): The Bulldogs defeated York Suburban in Week 4, 43-0. They host Kennard-Dale on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>4. Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast (2-2) (4) (D-12): The Friars defeated Haverford School in Week 4, 26-14. They host Conwell-Egan Catholic on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>5. South Fayette (4-0) (5) (D-7): The Lions defeated Trinity in Week 4, 21-0. Elizabeth Forward (4-0) (3) (D-7): The Warriors defeated Waynesburg Central in Week 4, 38-33. They visit Southmoreland on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>4. Mount Carmel (4-0) (5) (D-4): The Red Tornadoes defeated North Schuylkill in Week 4, 55-7. They visit Danville on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>5.
