(WOLF)  \u2014 As fall settles in and daylight starts clocking out earlier, plenty of summertime routines are getting a new twist: they\u2019re now happening in the dark. For runners, that means adjusting not just your schedule, but your safety game, too.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Byrne of Scranton Running Company said fall is one of the best times to lace up and hit the pavement \u2014 as long as runners take a few precautions when heading out in low light. He suggested using clippable lights or reflective gear to help stay visible when running in the dark.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe biggest thing is buddy up. You know, find a group or a friend and kind of, not only for motivation to get you out of bed in these tough mornings, but for safety reasons as well,\u201d Byrne said.<\/p>\n<p>Byrne said safety should be the top priority for runners, and that small steps can help people keep running throughout the year, even as the mornings get tougher and the nights get longer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO.
