Police: Fight leads to stabbing in Downtown Pittsburgh, 2 injured<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh police officers called to Market Square<\/p>\n

A fight involving four girls led to a stabbing in downtown Pittsburgh early Wednesday evening, public safety officials said.<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh police officers responded to the incident in Market Square around 5 p.m. Police said pepper spray was used to break up the fight.<\/p>\n

“Preliminary information indicates a group of four juvenile females was involved in a physical altercation when one of the juveniles produced a knife and slashed another juvenile in the throat,” according to a statement from Pittsburgh Public Safety. “The victim sustained a superficial slash wound. A second juvenile sustained a stab wound to the hand.”<\/p>\n

Public safety officials said both victims were taken to the hospital in stable condition.<\/p>\n

The person responsible will be charged with aggravated assault, and three other juveniles face citations, officials said.<\/p>\n
