Philadelphia police are preparing a deeper examination of the Olney home at the center of the investigation<\/a> involving photographer and filmmaker Raymond “R.C.” Horsch, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the case.<\/p>\n

Detectives could return to the property on Chew Avenue as early as next week, conducting another search for evidence after investigators recently identified several missing women<\/a> in photos and videos recovered from the home, law enforcement sources told NBC10.<\/p>\n

The planned search would mark the latest phase in a sprawling investigation<\/a> that began in June, when Philadelphia police and federal agents first executed search warrants at the property.<\/p>\n

Last week, investigators announced they had identified five missing women<\/a> in photos and videos found on digital devices recovered from the house. Police said they believe those women are deceased based on the digital evidence.<\/p>\n

Detectives plan to focus on specific areas of the home depicted in those photos and videos, looking for physical evidence that may have been missed during earlier searches, sources said.<\/p>\n

According to law enforcement sources, detectives could remove walls, floorboards or other parts of the structure if evidence uncovered during the investigation gives them reason to do so.<\/p>\n

The home has already undergone extensive searches. Investigators have repeatedly examined the property, and earlier this year crews excavated a pipe outside the home while searching for possible human remains.<\/p>\n

Police and the FBI also removed chemicals located in the basement. Testing remained active at a lab in Chicago on those items, police said last week.<\/p>\n

Former crime scene investigator and forensic expert Dr. Peter Valentin previously told the NBC10 Investigators that police would likely continue searching for biological evidence that could help establish whether a crime occurred.<\/p>\n

“Forensically, what we are going to do is we are going to re-double our efforts to search for biological evidence that would substantiate that something did happen and the result of that activity is that somebody is now deceased,” Valentin said.<\/p>\n

Valentin said investigators could be looking for blood, DNA or other biological material that may have been overlooked or require additional testing.<\/p>\n

Despite months of searching, sources tell NBC10 that police have not found biological evidence confirming a homicide inside the house. Authorities also have not recovered the remains of any of the missing women connected to the investigation.<\/p>\n

The FBI, DEA and Philadelphia police raided the home in late June following the arrest.<\/p>\n

Police and Philadelphia City Councilmember Anthony Phillips, who represents the Olney neighborhood, are expected to host a community meeting near the property on Sunday afternoon to provide neighbors with updates and answer questions about the ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the department said the case remained active and specific details about the investigation could not be provided.<\/p>\n

Horsch died in 2025 at age 82. He never faced charges connected to the missing women.<\/p>\n
