(WTHI) &#8211; There\u2019s new information after a Clay County man was arrested for a 2002 Pennsylvania murder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Terre Haute Police Department\u2019s federal task force arrested David Heck, 50, of Brazil.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Heck is accused of raping and killing 20-year-old Sabrina Kahler on June 24, 2002, near Lake Erie.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Heck\u2019s arrest was announced Tuesday by Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday and Erie County District Attorney Elizabeth Hirz.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Sabrina Kahler\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1790240313_215_ABSK77I4HRH3XBSQHM5NHTF23Q.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"803\" \/>Sabrina Kahler(PA Attorney General&#8217;s Office)What officials in Pennsylvania say happened<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Officials in Pennsylvania said Heck took Kahler swimming in 2002. They think he took her to a wooded area and killed her. Her body hasn\u2019t been recovered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Officials said one of Heck\u2019s accomplices told a grand jury he helped Heck dispose of Kahler\u2019s body. They also alleged Heck confessed to a cellmate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Attorney General Dave Sunday said, \u201cA totality of evidence that included key grand jury testimony from previously-reluctant witnesses led to a single conclusion &#8211; that David Heck raped and murdered Sabrina Kahler 24 years ago. This is a historical development that brings some answers for Sabrina\u2019s loved ones and the Erie community, but it is not a day of celebration as we have not yet brought Sabrina home. Efforts will continue to answer that one remaining question of \u2018where is she?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>How Terre Haute Police helped track him down<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A Wednesday press release from the Terre Haute Police Department said its federal task force used Flock cameras to help the Clay County Sheriff\u2019s Office find and arrest Heck.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Terre Haute Police said Heck was arrested right after he entered Clay County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Clay County Sheriff\u2019s Department received information that Heck was returning to the area.
