The exhibit label notes that Philadelphia police used\u00a0Crisco on poles\u00a0ahead of the NFC championship game in 2018\u00a0\u2014 and that it didn’t work.\u00a0<\/p>\n A boo, not a bow The display includes a reproduction of a program from a 1926 Philadelphia Orchestra performance, where the audience booed the work of composer Edgard Var\u00e8se.<\/p>\n At a Philadelphia Orchestra performance in 1926, the audience allegedly booed the production of Edgard Var\u00e8se’s piece, “Ameriques.” The museum classifies the show, from which it has a replica program, as the “earliest documented boo in the collection”\u00a0\u2014 a nod to the city’s long history of loud public critiques.\u00a0<\/p>\n A not-so-hot dog Among the museum’s collection, attendees can find a hot dog bun from one of the final Dollar Dog Nights.<\/p>\n The collection includes a preserved bun from the\u00a0famous food fight<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0Citizens Bank Park\u00a0that erupted during an April 2023 Phillies game against the Miami Marlins that just so happen to coincide with Dollar Dog Night. That night marked the final Phillies game featuring the $1 hot dog deal. A year later, Citizens Bank Park and the Phillies canceled<\/a>\u00a0the popular promo, introducing a buy-one, get-one-free night in its place.\u00a0<\/p>\n How to join the club A display at the museum lays out the five pillars of a true Philadelphian.<\/p>\n A “Register of Philadelphians” lists prominent city residents. Some, such as Marian Anderson, are classic picks and household names. Others, such as the guy who ate 40 rotisserie chickens in 40 days<\/a>, are a little less famous for their achievements \u2014 but noteworthy nonetheless.
