\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Amanda McIver, 67, of Scranton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital.<\/p>\n
\nBorn in Scranton, Amanda was the beloved daughter of Margaret Griffin. A proud Scranton native, Amanda lived a life marked by resilience, determination, love, and an unwavering devotion to her family.<\/p>\n
\nAmanda was a graduate of the University of Scranton, where she also dedicated 20 years of her professional life before continuing her career at TCMC. She was intelligent, hardworking, and fiercely determined\u2014qualities that carried her through every chapter of her life.<\/p>\n
\nBut Amanda\u2019s greatest accomplishment was never her career. It was the family she loved so deeply.<\/p>\n
\nAmanda was an amazing mother, grandmother, daughter, and woman. She had overcome much throughout her life, and every challenge only revealed more of the strength and grit that lived within her. She was smart, spunky, fiercely independent, and never one to take any nonsense. She would tell you about yourself without hesitation\u2014but somehow, she could do it in a way that made you feel loved while she was doing it.<\/p>\n
\nThat was Amanda.<\/p>\n
\nShe was deeply devoted to her family, and her children and grandchildren were truly the apples of her eye. She treasured time with them and found joy in reading, puzzles, conversation, laughter, and simply being together. Her family was at the center of her world, and her love for them was unmistakable.<\/p>\n
\nAmanda was also deeply loved by so many beyond her immediate family. People adored her. She had a way of leaving an impression on the people fortunate enough to know her. Her personality, her honesty, her strength, and her enormous heart made her unforgettable.<\/p>\n
\nAmanda taught her children to believe in themselves\u2014to go after what they wanted, to know their worth, and to never sell themselves short. Those lessons will continue to live through them and through every generation that follows.<\/p>\n
\nShe is survived by her beloved children, Coren Griffin (Timothy), Sharde McIver, and Lawrence McIver; her grandchildren, Sade, Tim Jr., Timia, Savion, Savannah, and Zayden; her sisters, Dessie Burk, Denise Norfleet, and Danielle Burk; her bonus sisters, Marlynn Barrett and Nita Barrett; and a host of godchildren, extended family, and friends who will forever carry her love and the lessons she instilled in them.<\/p>\n
\nAmanda will be missed beyond words.<\/p>\n
\nHer family will miss every part of her\u2014her love, her guidance, her strength, her honesty, her laughter, her spirit, and all the little things that made her uniquely Amanda.<\/p>\n
\nBut most of all, they will miss her presence.<\/p>\n
\nThere are some people whose absence changes the feeling of a room, a home, a family. Amanda was one of those people. Her presence was a gift, and the space she leaves behind can never truly be filled.<\/p>\n
\nHer family will carry her with them\u2014in the courage to keep going, in the confidence to know their worth, in the strength to pursue what they want, and in the love they give to one another.<\/p>\n

\nFamily and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Amanda\u2019s remarkable life, honor her memory, and surround the family with the love and support she so freely gave to others.<\/p>\n
\nHer life was a gift. Her love was a legacy.
