READING, Pa. \u2013 The Berks County Commissioners on Thursday heard the annual\u00a0report on bond compliance\u00a0from\u00a0Chief Financial Officer Laura Jones.<\/p>\n
The report \u2013which is mandated by the county\u2019s bond compliance policy- was for the calendar year 2025.<\/p>\n
Jones told the commissioners the county has met\u00a0all bond compliance requirements for 2025 with no material events or exceptions to report.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThe compliance process included diligent monitoring, timely disclosures and thorough documentation, ensuring transparency and adherence to standards,\u201d Jones reported. \u201cI’m pleased to report full compliance with all bond-related obligations for calendar year 2025.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had no listed events occur in 2025 that would trigger mandatory disclosure,\u201d she explained. \u201cThis would include defaults, rating changes, bond calls, new financial obligations, mergers, acquisitions or any other material event.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cOur team actively monitored the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) and the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) for rule changes, specifically reviewing updates on the IRS tax-exempt bond website to ensure ongoing compliance. Under our private use test, the county remains below the 10% private use threshold for all outstanding tax-exempt bond issues.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Jones added that no new bond proceeds were expended in 2025.<\/p>\n
