The Pittsburgh Penguins assigned 10 players to Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL) Thursday.<\/p>\n
That group includes:<\/p>\n
Forwards \u2013 Brayden Edwards, Max Graham, Jack Horbach, Hugh McGinn, Mark Senden, Tiernan Shoudy, Daniel Russell<\/p>\n
Defensemen \u2013 Finn Harding, Daniel Laatsch<\/p>\n
Goaltender \u2013 Taylor Gauthier<\/p>\n
Gauthier cleared waivers Thursday afternoon before being assigned.<\/p>\n
Harding, Laatsch and Gauthier are all signed to NHL contracts. Edwards, Graham, Horbach, McGinn, Senden, Shoudy and Russell are all signed to AHL deals.<\/p>\n
Defenseman Phil Kemp was placed on waivers. Should he go unclaimed by 2 p.m. Friday, he can be assigned to Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton.<\/p>\n
Serving as Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton\u2019s captain last season, Kemp appeared in a team-leading 70 games and posted 10 points (three goals, seven assists). A right-handed shot, the 27-year-old Kemp is in the second year of a two-year two-way contract with a salary cap hit of $850,000.<\/p>\n
Forward Melvin Fernstrom (shoulder) and goaltender Gabriel D\u2019Aigle (undisclosed), both prospects under NHL contract, were designated as injured non-roster.
