A joint narcotics operation led to the arrest Thursday of a New York man wanted out of New York state on drug-trafficking charges, according to Lackawanna County District Attorney Brian Gallagher.<\/p>\n

Jaheem Slater, 33, who was free on bail for a February felony drug-trafficking charge in Schenectady, New York, was taken into custody during a raid of a residence in Scranton\u2019s Hill Section. Slater is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a 2011 felony drug conviction.<\/p>\n

During the raid, officers found Slater in possession of 185 grams of cocaine, 12 ounces of marijuana, two .22-caliber revolvers, four digital scales, drug packaging materials and $1,310 in cash used during a prior controlled buy, officials said.<\/p>\n

The operation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration\u2019s Scranton Field Office, the Pennsylvania State Police Troop R Vice Unit, the Scranton Police Department Street Crimes Unit and detectives from the Lackawanna County District Attorney\u2019s Office Drug Unit.<\/p>\n

Participating agencies executed the search warrant shortly after noon, finding Slater in the bathroom. He initially ignored officers\u2019 commands before being taken into custody. A woman and an infant were also present in the home at the time.<\/p>\n
