An 81-year-old man was killed Sept. 23 when he was struck by a car while crossing West 38th Street in Erie, according to Erie police and the Erie County Coroner’s Office.<\/p>\n
The man, identified by the Coroner’s Office as David Grossi, died at UPMC Hamot at 11:27 p.m. Sept. 23 following the accident, which was reported at 7:48 p.m., according to Chief Deputy Coroner Nick Rekitt.<\/p>\n
The accident happened in the 900 block of West 38th Street. According to Erie police, Grossi was walking north across the roadway with a walker when he was struck by a vehicle heading east on West 38th Street.<\/p>\n
The driver of the car stopped after the accident and was on scene when police arrived, Erie police Deputy Chief Ken Kensill said.<\/p>\n
The accident was under investigation Sept. 24.<\/p>\n
