Upper Darby police have one subject in custody and are searching for a second suspect in shooting a weapon near a township playground.<\/p>\n
Laqwone Bennett, 18, of Upper Darby, was arrested and police have obtained a warrant for Wafiq Timmons,18, of Philadelphia in the incident.<\/p>\n
Police responded to Greenwood Avenue and Crosley Road about 5:25 p.m. Monday, where they discovered three spent shell casings near the 2nd Ward park entrance. Uniform patrol officers worked swiftly to secure the area, while detectives began their investigation.<\/p>\n
In a news release on social media, police said detectives interviewed a witness and watched hours of surveillance footage to identify the duo.<\/p>\n
The two are being charged with aggravated assault, conspiracy, firearm violations and reckless endangerment.<\/p>\n
Bennett was arraigned before District Judge Wendy Roberts, who set bail at 10% of $250,000, which Bennett was unable to post and taken to Delaware County\u2019s prison. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on March 28 before District Judge Christopher R. Mattox.<\/p>\n
Timmons is considered armed and dangerous.
