The Philadelphia Police Department has released surveillance footage in the hopes of tracking down a man who, officials claim, attacked a home owner but was fought off in attempted home invasion in South Philly’s Point Breeze section.<\/p>\n
Officials shared footage of the suspected attacker on social media on Friday. <\/p>\n
According to police, this man is sought following an incident that happened at about 6:20 a.m. on Sept. 11, 2026, near the intersection of 20th and Morris streets. <\/p>\n
Ahead of the attempted home invasion, officials said, the man seen in the surveillance footage was spotted “skulking” throughout the nearby neighborhood and peering into windows and walking through alleyways. <\/p>\n
After about 10 minutes, officials said, the suspect spotted a homeowner putting out the trash and descended on the individual. <\/p>\n
Here, police allege, the man sought in this incident attacked the homeowner, forcing his way through the front door of the homeowner’s residence and a struggle ensued. <\/p>\n
Police said the homeowner “valiantly fought off the suspect” and the man sought in this incident fled the home empty handed. <\/p>\n
Now, officials are seeking help from the public to identify the man sought in the attempted home invasion. <\/p>\n
