BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Police in Bethlehem charged five people in a violent home invasion.<\/p>\n
Zaydin Jeremiah DeJesus, 18, faces multiple charges, including burglary, criminal trespass, robbery, aggravated assault, simple assault, and terroristic threats, according to court paperwork.<\/p>\n
Naskysja-Lee Evelyn Martinez, 18, also faces several charges, including burglary, criminal trespass, robbery, aggravated assault, simple assault, and terroristic threats, court documents say.<\/p>\n
Court paperwork says Jaylene Gonzalez, 22, Jayden Collazo, 18, and Jordan Rios, 18, are also charged in the case.<\/p>\n
Bethlehem Police responded to a home on the 600 block of East Fifth Street around 3:45 p.m. July 11 for the report of burglary in progress, authorities said in court paperwork.<\/p>\n
The woman who was injured in the home invasion said she saw Collazo and Rios kicking the front door as they tried to break into the home, city police said in court paperwork.<\/p>\n
When that did not work, Collazo and Rios helped DeJesus through the window, allowing them to get into the home, police said.<\/p>\n
City police said the woman then ran to the attic because she feared for her safety. She then heard a loud bang, which she believed was the front door opening, then the sound of people walking up the stairs, according to court paperwork.<\/p>\n
DeJesus, Martinez, and Gonzalez found the woman and assaulted her, according to police.<\/p>\n
Martinez punched the woman in the face, took her cell phone to prevent her from staying in contact with the Northampton County emergency communications center, and hit her on the head with the phone, court documents say.<\/p>\n
City police said DeJesus restrained her while Gonzalez and Martinez kicked her and stomped on her.<\/p>\n
DeJesus told the woman not to fight back as he was displaying what she recognized as the handle of a firearm tucked into his waistband, Bethlehem Police said.<\/p>\n
The woman said she was afraid she would be shot if she resisted, according to police.<\/p>\n
After the assault, all five people ran away from the home, police said. The woman said DeJesus smashed the cell phone on the ground, city police said.<\/p>\n
