PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A group of Eagles fans opposing new tailgating rules<\/a> for oversized vehicles says it has hired an attorney.<\/p>\n

Carmen Conti, one of the organizers fighting back against the changes, told Action News on Friday that attorney George Bochetto will assist the group as it works to “protect Philadelphia’s tailgating tradition and give fans a voice in decisions about parking at the Sports Complex.”<\/p>\n

Conti said Bochetto is expected to join supporters Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. to discuss the group’s next steps.<\/p>\n

Action News reached out to Bochetto for comment but had not received a response as of Friday night.<\/p>\n

Under a new policy set to take effect Oct. 4, oversized vehicles will be directed by parking attendants to designated areas outside Lincoln Financial Field. Those vehicles will be assigned to Lot D and the upper section of Lot N.<\/p>\n

The fan group said its biggest concern is that standard passenger vehicles will no longer be allowed to park alongside oversized vehicles in those areas.<\/p>\n

“My kids cannot drive their car next to their dad’s truck, and it’s going to ruin the tailgating community,” Conti said. “People are furious because why are they doing this?”<\/p>\n

The Sports Complex Parking Venture said the changes are intended to improve traffic flow, keep roadways clear and preserve parking availability for all guests.<\/p>\n

Officials said the policy was developed following community feedback and discussions with city stakeholders.<\/p>\n

Under the new guidelines, fans will no longer be able to choose or reserve their own parking locations. Oversized vehicle pass holders assigned to Lots E or H will still be allowed to park in those lots but will be assigned specific spaces.<\/p>\n

The updated policy also increases parking costs for oversized vehicles. The fee will be $200 for four parking spaces, with the option to purchase two additional spaces for $100, allowing a maximum of six spaces.<\/p>\n
