PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A new fashion collaboration is a love note to Philadelphia from one of its famous daughters, and an effort to replace a history of pain with well-deserved pride.<\/p>\n
“I thought it would be a fun way to introduce people to, you know, cheesesteaks and hoagies and scrapple and water ice – or wooder ice, I should say, like I normally do,” says designer Sheila Bridges.<\/a> “Of course it wouldn’t be Philly without it being a Philly Jawn, right?”<\/p>\n Bridges is part of a new fashion venture that has a perfect back scrawl on a set of hoodies and T-shirts.<\/p>\n Bridges is West Philadelphia-born and raised and is now a New York City interior designer. Her work appears on magazine covers and in some of the most elite homes and offices.<\/p>\n But in this more relaxed venture, she is collaborating with Stephen Satterfield, culinary expert and host of “High on the Hog,” the Netflix series on African American cuisine.<\/p>\n
