The coroner identified him as Mark Little, 59, of Allentown.

Investigators say they found 14 shell casings near the victim.

A 911 caller said the shooter was wearing a yellow ski mask, gray hoodie and white pants, and was last seen running on North Church Street, the DA said. Several other witnesses gave police additional descriptions, noting the shooter wore a distinctive pair of white and black New Balance sneakers.

Witnesses also gave police surveillance video from private cameras.

One of the witnesses watched the video and identified the suspected shooter as Abdidahir Nieves, 39, of Allentown. The video shows the man believed to be Nieves walking directly toward the area where Little was shot, the DA said.

Investigators later searched Nieves apartment and found the New Balance sneakers, as well as the other clothing worn and the ski mask, the DA says. They also found a 9-milimeter handgun with the same ammunition as the shell casings found near the victim.

Nieves was arrested and charged with criminal homicide.

Second shooting

About an hour after the first shooting, gunfire was reported about two miles away, in the area of S. Front and E. Cumberland streets.

                        <img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAAQAAAADCAQAAAAe/WZNAAAAEElEQVR42mM8U88ABowYDABAxQPltt5zqAAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==" alt="Allentown shooting at S. His death was ruled a homicide, the coroner said.

Witnesses at the scene told investigators the shooter was wearing all black clothing, the DA said. They found a semi-automatic handgun at the scene with ammunition that matched the shell casings near Perry’s body, the DA said.

Investigators arrested Barret Griggs, 44, of Schuylkill Haven. He was charged with criminal homicide and persons not to possess firearms.

A witness told police the victim and suspect were arguing inside a home in the 900 block of S. Filmore Street. The witness saw the victim outside the home and the suspect ran back inside, came out with a gun and began firing at the victim, the DA said.

Authorities also got surveillance video that shows the shooting.

Griggs is behind bars in Lehigh County Jail with no bail.

The district attorney says the community’s cooperation and the use of private and public surveillance videos helped investigators make quick arrests in both cases. The DA also credited the collaboration between investigators, including Allentown police and the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force.

The investigations are ongoing.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Investigators are releasing more details about two deadly shootings in Allentown on Tuesday evening, just…

[10
214,119,121,120,232,31
post-297311","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-allentown","tag-_homepage_top_stories","tag-allentown","tag-allentown-headlines","tag-allentown-news","tag-allentown-area","tag-crime
["GET
