Each day, Pennsylvanians use nearly a billion gallons of water. Behind that supply are dozens of workers and organizations focused on making sure water is safe before it reaches homes and businesses.

As part of Source Water Protection Week, organizations and government agencies gathered in Cumberland County to discuss some of Pennsylvania’s biggest water protection challenges and the efforts underway to address them.

Collaboration was a key focus of the discussions, with water industry leaders emphasizing the importance of sharing knowledge and learning from one another to improve protection efforts year after year.

The conference also highlighted the technology used at water treatment facilities, including the plant in Silver Spring Township.

Officials say the annual gathering helps maintain water safety standards across Pennsylvania while giving organizations an opportunity to stay informed and respond quickly when problems arise.

With ongoing communication and advances in water treatment technology, industry leaders say these efforts are essential to protecting the state’s drinking water supply.

Pennsylvania American Water is highlighting the work behind keeping south-central Pennsylvania’s water supply safe during Source Water Protection…

[6
28,30,29
post-297917","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-pennsylvania","tag-pennsylvania","tag-pennsylvania-headlines","tag-pennsylvania-news
["GET
