Police: 3 shot in Pittsburgh’s South Side after football game at Cupples Stadium<\/p>\n

PITTSBURGH \u2014<\/p>\n

Three people were injured in a shooting near Cupples Stadium in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood following a high school football game Thursday night, police said.<\/p>\n

Officers responded to the shooting near South 9th and East Carson streets, just outside the stadium. Police said the shots were fired as crowds were exiting the venue.<\/p>\n

Two male victims and one female victim, all believed to be teenagers, were taken to the hospital in stable condition, Pittsburgh Police Chief Jason Lando said.<\/p>\n

Lando said police the shooting happened while police were trying to break up a fight.<\/p>\n

“We had officers both inside and outside of the stadium, just there out of precaution as a safety measure. As the game ended, there was a large crowd out here on Carson Street. A couple of fights broke out. We had multiple officers from the city and Port Authority that were on the scene, helping to just facilitate people getting safely getting out, breaking up a couple fights, when suddenly, an individual pulled out a firearm and fired multiple rounds,” Lando said.<\/p>\n

Westinghouse played University Prep<\/a> at the stadium. It’s unclear if any students were injured.<\/p>\n

Police said the shooter ran away and is still at large. A detailed was not immediately available. One person was taken to police headquarters for questioning about the incident.<\/p>\n
