Michael Jordan had Nike Air Jordans, Kobe Bryant had Nike’s Kobe Protro sneaker line and, newest 76er LeBron James has his own signature shoe in the the Nike Zoom LeBron sneaker line. <\/p>\n

And, starting today, Philadelphia 76ers point guard Tyrese Maxey joins the ranks of those elite players with his first-ever signature shoe line, the Maxey v1 by New Balance<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a statement New Balance shared on the new shoe, the company said the sneaker has been designed with “speed, agility and confidence on the court,” in mind.<\/p>\n

Maxey did an early unveil<\/a> of the shoe during the Tyrese Maxey Philly Neighborhood Classic youth basketball tournament at St. Joe’s Prep, last weekend. <\/p>\n

But, on Friday, the shoes are available in stores and online.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted my shoe to have an iconic look that you\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0need to see the\u00a0\u2018N\u2019\u00a0to know\u00a0it’s\u00a0a\u00a0New\u00a0Balance\u00a0shoe,\u201d said Tyrese Maxey in a statement on the launch of his new sneaker line.\u00a0\u201cTo me, the 9060 is a classic NB silhouette, so\u00a0I pulled a lot of inspiration from that to bring lifestyle to the basketball court.\u00a0I worked really closely\u00a0with the New Balance product team to make\u00a0sure\u00a0the shoe\u00a0looks\u00a0good and feels\u00a0good on and off the court.\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0really excited\u00a0for people to test it out!\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to the company, the Maxey v1\u00a0features\u00a0a “dual\u00a0rail\u00a0plate system\u00a0built\u00a0to\u00a0propel athletes forward while supporting quick lateral movement,\u00a0pairing responsive\u00a0FuelCell\u00a0cushioning\u00a0with stability features designed to match the pace and explosiveness of Tyrese’s game.”<\/p>\n

It also features a a “refined fit” with a sculpted\u00a0heel profile and added midfoot and arch volume\u00a0to create\u00a0a “locked-in fit feeling, while a centerline flex groove\u00a0allows the shoe to move naturally in multiple directions.” <\/p>\n

To evoke the 9060, as Maxey intended, New Balance said the top lacing\u00a0is\u00a0taken from\u00a0the 2002,\u00a0while the sculpted outriggers\u00a0echo the design language of the\u00a09060.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0the\u00a0first signature shoe of Tyrese’s career, New Balance said, in a statement, that the Maxey v1 is intended to reflect “his rise as one of the league’s most electric young guards and his growing influence both on and off the court.”<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Maxey v1 is an exciting\u00a0addition to our New Balance basketball\u00a0lineup,\u00a0designed by\u00a0Tyrese\u00a0with the modern hooper in\u00a0mind,\u201d Kevin Trotman, senior product manager\u00a0for\u00a0New Balance\u00a0Basketball, said in a statement. \u201cThe shoe\u00a0delivers high-level traction and performance while pairing\u00a0it with a caged upper design language, that feels current, yet avant-garde.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The launch colorway, first debuted on court during the 2026 Play-In\u00a0Tournament, features vibrant blue accents against a black base and, New Balance said, additional\u00a0colorways will launch throughout the year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Maxey v1\u00a0will\u00a0launch\u00a0worldwide on\u00a0October 2 for\u00a0a suggested retail price of $129.99 at newbalance.com<\/a> and select retailers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Also, expect lines on Friday as the Maxey v1 launches at the Philadelphia New Balance store, located at 1619 Walnut Street.
