Officials with Pittsburgh Public Schools say they are deeply concerned by the violence that sent three teenagers to the hospital following a shooting after a football game. <\/a><\/p>\n Officers responded to the shooting near South 9th and East Carson streets, just outside the stadium Thursday. Police said the shots were fired as crowds were exiting the venue, where Westinghouse played University Prep<\/a> in a City League matchup.<\/p>\n Two male victims and one female victim, all believed to be teenagers, were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition, Pittsburgh Police Chief Jason Lando said.<\/p>\n Statement from Pittsburgh Public Schools<\/p>\n “The game had concluded, and the incident occurred outside of the stadium. As the situation unfolded, Pittsburgh Public Schools School Safety personnel immediately placed the stadium into Secure Mode, restricting entry and exit to help ensure the safety of students, staff and spectators who remained inside. School Safety worked in coordination with responding law enforcement until it was determined that the stadium could safely return to normal operations,” Pittsburgh Public Schools said in a statement. <\/p>\n Officials say there thoughts are with those who were injured as well as those impacted by the shooting. <\/p>\n “The safety and well-being of our students remains our highest priority. We are grateful to the Pittsburgh Police officers and other public safety personnel who were present and responded immediately. The District will continue to work closely with our public safety partners and will make appropriate supports available to students and staff affected by the incident,” The statement continues. <\/p>\n Police Already on Scene<\/p>\n Pittsburgh Police Chief Jason Lando said officers were already inside and outside the stadium as a precaution. <\/p>\n In addition to the extra police presence, metal detectors were used to get into the stadium, but it is unclear if the shooter or the victims had been inside the stadium for the game. <\/p>\n Police said the shooter ran away and is still at large. A detailed description was not immediately available.
