Mark Little was an Allentown barber who spent much of his life giving back to the community and giving to others without expecting anything in return, according to his family.<\/p>\n

Little, 59, was fatally shot on his front porch in the 600 block of West Gordon Street<\/a> in what his family called a random act of gun violence. A 39-year-old Allentown man is charged with homicide in the killing.<\/p>\n

Now, his family is asking for the community\u2019s help.<\/p>\n

Little\u2019s family started a GoFundMe Wednesday to help pay for funeral expenses and other costs associated with his death.<\/p>\n

Little, they said, was a barber who gave free haircuts to people who could not afford them, and helped people financially when he could. He showed up for people, they said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur dad was a barber, but to so many people in this community, he was much more than that,\u201d they wrote on the GoFundMe. \u201cHis barber chair was a place where people came not only for a haircut, but for conversation, advice, encouragement, laughter, and sometimes simply someone who would listen.\u201d<\/p>\n

As of Friday, about $16,000 of its $26,000 goal has been raised.
