The Red and Blue have won four of the last five matchups, which includes the two latest matches. Over that stretch, the hosts outscored the Big Green 9-5 and haven’t fallen at Rhodes Field since the 2019 campaign.

*Both programs met for the first time on Nov. 22, 1919, in Philadelphia when Penn came away with a dominant 5-0 victory. The Quakers were undefeated (4-0-1) through their first five contests against Dartmouth prior to it earning its first win of the series in Hanover (2-1) during the 1958 season.

Quaker Notemeal
*Junior forward Marco Bottene currently paces the Ivy League in scoring with six goals through six matches played. The Hermosa Beach, Calif. native’s three-game scoring streak was snapped last weekend at Yale, but he still ranks third in the nation with a 1.00 goals per game average. Bottene’s also t-19th in the country with two match-winning goals and t-5th in points per game (2.00).

*Senior captain Jack-Ryan Jeremiah was on target again in the team’s latest fixture versus Yale (9/26). The midfielder scored his second penalty of the season in the 50th minute to hand the Quakers the first lead of the night and played a key role in midfield that allowed them to control most of the contest. Jeremiah ranks fourth on the team in minutes with 446 under his belt in 2026.

*Underclassmen Adam Ambrus-Aikelin and Becket Empson-Speiden both found the back of the net in the 3-1 victory over FDU. The pair of sophomores logged goals in the 42nd and 67th minutes and Empson-Speiden’s tally was the first of his collegiate career. Empson-Speiden played a career-high 61 minutes against Yale and both attackers will look to continue making an impact off the bench.

*Three Quakers—Joaquin Niehenke, Owen Sullivan and Ambrus-Aikelin—have all notched two assists so far in 2026. All three players have eclipsed 200 minutes or more played this campaign and are three of 13 players to do so.

*Penn’s upperclassmen are responsible for 61.5 percent (8 of 13) of the team’s goals this season. The remaining goals were scored by Mario Stoka (1), Empson-Speiden (1) and Ambrus-Aikelin (2).

*Four freshmen—Wyatt Bonos, Landry Moncrief, Isaac Tortola, and Stoka—continued to tally important minutes for Penn against the Bulldogs. Stoka registered the second start of his career and played 29 minutes, while his classmates were second-half substitutes.

*The Quakers’ offense stands as one of the largest threats amongst their Ancient Eight foes, ranking second in goals per game (2.17) and points per game (6.17). They have also been a disciplined side through the opening six matches, standing as the only team in the conference to average less than 1.0 yellow cards per game (.50).

*Phillip Falcon III has solidified himself as the Red and Blue’s primary goalkeeper, playing all 526 available minutes so far in 2026. In six starts, the senior has made 17 saves and boasts a .680 save percentage, which ranks seventh in the conference. Falcon III and Penn’s defensive unit are still seeking its first clean sheet of the campaign.

*Sophomore midfielder Phil Pak logged his third consecutive start at Yale and played a career-high 85 minutes. Reigning Ivy League Tournament champions Princeton were picked to finish first with 123 points and 14 first-place votes, followed by Cornell with 111 points and two first-place votes. Harvard rounded out the top four spots with 79 points.

Scouting the Big Green

*Dartmouth prepares to face Penn with a 3-3-2 overall record and 1-0 mark in conference play after knocking off then No. 18 Princeton last Saturday (9/26) at Burnham Field. A week prior, the Big Green hosted then No. 18 Vermont and took down the Catamounts 3-1 in Hanover. The visitors’ first win of the season came on Sept. 7 versus Stonehill and they enter Saturday’s matchup off the back of a scoreless draw with New Hampshire (9/29).

*Eidur Baldvinsson has three goals to his name in 2026, most recently scoring during the team’s nationally ranked matchups against Vermont and Princeton. The junior forward has come off the bench in his last three appearances and will look to trouble Penn’s back line. Trenton Blake has also been a key contributor to Dartmouth’s early offensive success, notching a goal and two assists in seven starts.

*Four members of the Big Green—Hudson Kohler, Olly Spicer, Eli Granda, and TJ Jeffreys—have started in all eight contests this season.

*In the Ivy League preseason poll, the visitors were picked to finish sixth among the Ancient Eight’s members, receiving 41 votes. Dartmouth has failed to earn a spot in postseason play since the 2017 season when it met New Hampshire in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

*The Big Green have outscored their opponents 7-5 through their first eight matches and their five goals conceded sit atop of the Ivy League along with Princeton. Dartmouth’s .625 goals-against average is t-12th in the nation and it’s t-14th in shutout percentage (.500).

*Head coach Connor Klekota has relied upon Jeffreys so far in 2026 as the program’s primary goalkeeper.
