{"id":299342,"date":"2026-10-03T23:24:11","date_gmt":"2026-10-03T23:24:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/299342\/"},"modified":"2026-10-03T23:24:11","modified_gmt":"2026-10-03T23:24:11","slug":"third-person-arrested-in-connection-with-i-95-shooting-that-killed-bystander-officials-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/299342\/","title":{"rendered":"Third person arrested in connection with I-95 shooting that killed bystander, officials say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Listen to article \u2022\u00a00:00 min<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">State and federal authorities on Friday arrested a man in <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/topic\/north-philly\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">North Philadelphia<\/a> who was wanted in connection with <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/crime\/i95-murder-charges-philadelphia-alondra-lopez-joseph-toledo-gonzalez-20260901.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/crime\/i95-murder-charges-philadelphia-alondra-lopez-joseph-toledo-gonzalez-20260901.html\">a fatal shooting on I-95 last year<\/a> that left a 21-year-old bystander dead.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">The U.S. Marshals Service announced that authorities apprehended Wilfredo Ortiz-Suarez, 47, who is the third person to face charges related to the March 29, 2025, killing of Aiden Zeallor. Investigators described Zeallor, of Levittown, as the victim of errant gunfire that flew into his car while he was driving on I-95 near the <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/topic\/port-richmond\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Port Richmond<\/a> section of the city at about 2:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Ortiz-Suarez was wanted by state police \u2014 which is handling the investigation \u2014 on murder, conspiracy, and related charges. Authorities executed a traffic stop to arrest him at about 1:45 p.m. Friday on the 3700 block of North Broad Street near Erie Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">The apprehension comes about a month after police arrested two others they say were involved in the killing: Alondra M. Lopez, 28, and Joseph G. Toledo-Gonzalez, 27. Both face charges of murder, attempted murder, and related crimes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">It was not immediately clear what role police believe each defendant played in the shooting. State police did not immediately respond to a request for comment Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Police said previously that Zeallor and a friend were driving northbound on I-95 when someone using a semiautomatic weapon fired more than 50 rounds toward another vehicle, which investigators believe was the intended target.
