Under the new policy<\/a>, oversized vehicles can no longer choose their own parking locations and instead will be directed to assigned spaces in Lots D and N.<\/p>\nThere’s also a price increase for those oversized vehicles.<\/p>\n
The updated pricing structure sets the cost at $200 for four spaces and $100 for two additional spots, with a maximum of six spaces.<\/p>\n
“It was scary at first, but once you got in, they did a good job of moving people around,” said Roosevelt Turner of Chester, Pennsylvania. “We got here about 9:30 p.m. last night. We have seven vehicles, two with trailers on it.”<\/p>\n
“It’s not horrible, it’s like, we would pay for extra spots if we were allowed to. I feel like it’s very crammed and it’s so many empty spaces,” said Lauren Heron of Ambler, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
“When you raise the prices, you’re gonna have a lot of people who are not going to be able to do this. You know, it’s not fair,” said Lisa Davis of Cheltenham.<\/p>\n
Louis Jordan with the Philadelphia Tailgating Association says it was a rocky start from the long unorganized lines to an early morning fight.<\/p>\n
“We still have some things to work out. 100-percent. All in all, this is a lot better than what we thought it was going to be,” said Jordan.<\/p>\n
The Philadelphia Tailgating Association is set to meet with Sports Complex Parking Venture later this week to discuss what did and what didn’t work and possibly make further changes.<\/p>\n
