The Pittsburgh Steelers have been involved in a myriad of trades over the past two years, and that means there has been draft capital coming into the organization, as well as some compensation leaving. After the Joey Porter Jr. trade last week, it is important to update the draft picks the Steelers will have in 2027 and 2027.

Let’s recap those picks, and remember things can change if more trades are made leading up to the NFL Trade Deadline on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. ET.

2027 NFL Draft

Round 1: Original selection

Round 2: Original selection

Round 3: Original selection
Round 3: Pick from Dallas (via Broderick Jones trade)

Round 5: Pick from Dallas (via George Pickens trade)

Round 6: Pick from Dallas (via Broderick Jones trade)
Round 6: Conditional/additional pick from Dallas (via Joey Porter Jr. trade)

Round 7: Original selection
Round 7: Pick from Miami (via Minkah Fitzpatrick/Jalen Ramsey trade)

Total Picks: 9

Note: The Steelers traded away their own original 2027 4th-round pick in the Broderick Jones deal.

For those who are wondering if the Steelers would be able to move up in the first round to potentially draft a top tier quarterback, they certainly have some draft capital to do so. Not just their picks in 2027, but even trading some 2028 capital could get them into the Top 10 to select a quarterback, if they view a player there worthy of such an aggressive move.

2028 NFL Draft

Round 1: Own pick

Round 2: Own pick
Round 2: Dallas Cowboys 2nd-round pick (via Joey Porter Jr. trade)

Round 3: Own pick

Round 4: Own pick

Round 5: Own pick

Round 6: Own pick
Round 6: Green Bay Packers 6th-round pick (via Kaleb Johnson trade)

Round 7: Own pick

Total Picks: 9

If the Steelers don’t move up in the 2027 draft to grab a quarterback, they should have the ammunition to do so in 2028 with the Cowboys 2nd Round pick at the ready. It is important to note this could involve them trading up for any player, not just a quarterback, but the Steelers fan base realizes a quarterback is absolutely necessary for long term success.
