Tropical Storm Isaias could bring rain and strong winds to our region this weekend.<\/p>\n
AccuWeather Meteorologist Kerry Schwindenhammer tells KDKA Radio the forecast is still changing, including how strong the winds could get locally.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe do use the term \u2018some risk\u2019 to lives and property because of the fact that yes, there will be some rain from it, it will be probably be breezy during the day, I don\u2019t think the winds are going to be terribly strong,\u201d said Schwindenhammer. <\/p>\n
Forecasters are also watching for heavier rain, especially north of Pittsburgh <\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re expecting amounts to be in the one to two-inch range, across a large portion of Pennsylvania, including the Pittsburgh area,\u201d said Schwindenhammer. <\/p>\n
Schwindenhammer says he\u2019s not concerned about widespread power outages becoming an issue.<\/p>\n
He says rain is expected to start falling Sunday morning and will continue through the evening and could last into Monday.<\/p>\n
Schwindenhammer says the storm is still evolving and there is an outside chance of the rain arriving earlier on Saturday night, if the storm moves faster.<\/p>\n
With nearly 1,000 Duquesne Light customers currently on strike, Schwindenhammer doesn\u2019t expect a large number of power outages.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Tropical Storm Isaias could bring rain and strong winds to our region this weekend.
