Niagara police have arrested one of two people in connection with an investigation of aggravated assault in Niagara Falls near Pin Oak Drive last month.<\/p>\n
At around 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 21, officers responded to reports of a disturbance in the area of McLeod Road.<\/p>\n
When they arrived, they say they found a 23-year-old man with facial injuries, whom they then transported to hospital.<\/p>\n
Investigators say the victim had been walking southbound on Pin Oak Drive, when he was allegedly confronted by a man driving a red Dodge Ram pickup truck, as it attempted to leave a business onto the road.<\/p>\n
The victim was then allegedly struck several times with a closed fist, before the driver re-entered his vehicle and fled the area.<\/p>\n
Police arrested 31-year-old Edward Courty of Fort Erie Wednesday, and charged him with aggravated assault.<\/p>\n
Courty was held for a bail hearing at a St. Catharines courthouse Thursday.<\/p>\n
Officers have not revealed the identity of the passenger that was seen in the vehicle during the incident.<\/p>\n
