PITTSBURGH \u2014 The City of Pittsburgh is ready to get spooky!<\/p>\n
City officials announced the dates for Trick-or-Treat and other Halloween events.<\/p>\n
When is trick-or-treat in the City of Pittsburgh?<\/p>\n
Residents can prepare to have creepy, cool, cute and creative characters at their doors on Oct. 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. That\u2019s when kids will be seeking candy for the official Trick-or-Treat event.<\/p>\n
\u201cPittsburghers love to celebrate\u00a0Halloween and all of the fun\u00a0annual\u00a0community\u00a0traditions\u00a0for our kids, families and\u00a0neighbors,\u201d said Mayor O\u2019Connor. \u201cI want to thank the community organizations who host events and our\u00a0whole\u00a0City and\u00a0CitiParks\u00a0team for being creative and\u00a0coming up with\u00a0fun new ways to bring our neighborhoods together.\u00a0Let\u2019s\u00a0all do our part to make sure our kids have a safe\u00a0and fun\u00a0Halloween.\u201d<\/p>\n
How can trick-or-treaters stay safe?<\/p>\n
Anyone interested in participating is encouraged to follow these safety tips: <\/p>\n
Include reflective tape,\u00a0stickers\u00a0or clip-on lights on costumes and bags for visibility.Make sure children can properly see through masks or make-up for safe street crossing.\u00a0Check costumes to make sure there\u00a0aren\u2019t\u00a0obstructions that could cause trips or falls.\u00a0Keep an eye on the weather forecast and dress appropriately for a more comfortable evening.\u00a0\u00a0Walk on sidewalks\u00a0rather than in the streets;\u00a0watch for vehicles\u00a0and parents should\u00a0assist\u00a0children when\u00a0crossing\u00a0streets.\u00a0Carry lights or flashlights for\u00a0additional\u00a0visibility.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Anyone driving during the trick-or-treat hours is asked to\u00a0use\u00a0additional\u00a0caution,\u00a0care\u00a0and vigilance.<\/p>\n
What else is happening in the City of Pittsburgh for Halloween?<\/p>\n
The City of Pittsburgh flagged a few other chilling events for the Halloween season.<\/p>\n
CitiParks will hold its annual Track-and-Treat event at the Bud Harris Cycling Track at 1401 Washington Blvd in Highland Park from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 24.<\/p>\n
That event will include a costume contest, bike decorations and food trucks.<\/p>\n
