LONDON (WPVI) — Inside Cafe Diana, a famous watering hole in the shadow of London’s Kensington Palace, you’ll find photos of the people’s Princess plastering the walls.<\/p>\n
In one photo, Lady Di is representing the City of Brotherly Love, sporting a Kelly green Eagles jacket in the early ’90s.<\/p>\n
She also wore the look on the cover of People magazine.<\/p>\n
Stephen Liddell is the owner of Ye Olde England Tours in London. He says Diana wasn’t much of a football fan.<\/p>\n
“Princess Diana wasn’t exactly a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles or the NFL. Not many people were into the NFL at the time, but she really loved the colors of the kit,” he said.<\/p>\n
It was actually a chance meeting with a member of the Eagles organization at Princess Grace of Monaco’s funeral that led to the creation of the custom coat.<\/p>\n
The style has always remained popular, with Mitchell and Ness recreating the iconic look in 2023.<\/p>\n

It’s believed Princess Diana’s original coat remains in her private collection.<\/p>\n
