{"id":303706,"date":"2026-10-10T10:26:10","date_gmt":"2026-10-10T10:26:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/303706\/"},"modified":"2026-10-10T10:26:10","modified_gmt":"2026-10-10T10:26:10","slug":"2-philadelphia-police-officers-shot-officials-say-nbc10-philadelphia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/303706\/","title":{"rendered":"2 Philadelphia police officers shot, officials say\u00a0 \u2013 NBC10 Philadelphia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two Philadelphia police officers were shot overnight, officials said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 19th district officers responded to the 100 block of North 52nd Street around 12:22 a.m. on Saturday for a report of a man with a gun on a porch.<\/p>\n<p>When they arrived, the gunman opened fire, shooting both officers, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>One of the officers, a 33-year-old, was shot 12 times while the second officer, a 40-year-old, was shot three times, according to investigators. <\/p>\n<p>Both officers were taken to Presbyterian Hospital where they underwent surgery.<\/p>\n<p>A SWAT team and other police officers responded to the shooting where they found the gunman in a tree, officials said. The man \u2014 who was in possession of both his own gun and the weapon of one of the officers \u2014- was taken into custody.
