After roughly six years of mobile operations, a local pizza vendor has opened its own takeout restaurant in Allentown.<\/p>\n

Local Stone opened in late September at 446 N. 15th St., serving pizza varieties<\/a> such as \u201cThe DG\u201d with soppressata and chorizo and \u201cThe Hoff Detroit\u201d with Mike\u2019s Hot Honey. It also delivers within an 8-mile radius<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jess Macker, co-owner alongside her husband Brian, opened the business as a mobile pizza vendor in 2020.<\/p>\n

As people who have always enjoyed cooking, she said, \u201cwe started to expand into pizza and then we just heard from family and friends over the few months before we started, like, \u2018This is really fantastic, you should try and sell this.\u2019 And then during the craziness of COVID, we just decided to give it a try.\u201d<\/p>\n

Macker said they went \u201cgone back and forth\u201d on opening a physical location for several years.<\/p>\n

Then, the right spot came along and gave them the push they needed, she said. \u201cWe wanted a spot where it just becomes a natural next step for our customers to come, pick up their food and then go on to their events with their family and friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

Local Stone replaced the former hot dog restaurant Willie Joe\u2019s, Macker said.<\/p>\n

The Bethlehem Gift Shoppe: The gift shop announced a grand opening<\/a> for Saturday, Oct. 10, at 77 W. Broad St., 12C, in Bethlehem.<\/p>\n

Belia\u2019s Dominican Beauty Salon & Barber Shop: The new salon and barbershop will hold a grand opening Oct. 20 at the Palmer Park Mall in Palmer Township, the mall announced<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Precious Petals Florist: The flower shop announced it has relocated<\/a> from 5614 Main St. in Whitehall Township to 4119 Mauch Chunk Road in North Whitehall Township.<\/p>\n

T-Rex Sports Cards & Gaming: The trading card store announced it will have a grand opening<\/a> Nov. 14 at 202 Main St. in Hellertown.<\/p>\n

The cafe Jay\u2019s Local will celebrate its seventh anniversary with a free storytime event 10 a.m. Monday at the Civic Theatre in Allentown, featuring influencer Kayla Marhefka.<\/p>\n

The Nazareth Fall Festival will kick off at 2 p.m. Oct. 17 on Main Street between Belvidere and Walnut street in Nazareth, the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce website announced<\/a>. It will feature contests for holding beer steins and ice cream cones as well as live music, food trucks and vendors.<\/p>\n

Vegan Treats in Bethlehem was named best vegan bakery in the United States by the VegNews<\/a> magazine and website. \u201cDanielle Konya\u2019s Bethlehem bakery has spent two decades perfecting an enormous lineup of treats, with something to sate any palate,\u201d the website said.<\/p>\n
