With more snow expected in the forecast, the Erie Streets Department is paying close attention to the overnight conditions.<\/p>\n
The department started salting the streets throughout the city around 11:00 p.m. Sunday, once the snow started falling.<\/p>\n
On Monday, crews were able to clear all of the streets without having to plow, by using road salt.<\/p>\n
The city is using seven salt trucks, which are split up between the east and west side of the city, with one truck being dedicated to downtown Erie.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, if the snow starts to stick, they will focus on the main runs.<\/p>\n
Street crews will focus on the odd\/even parking areas starting at 7:00 a.m.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday afternoon, second and third shift crews will then move into the outlying parts of the city.<\/p>\n
