PITTSBURGH \u2014 Pittsburgh Regional Transit will temporarily take most of its technology systems offline starting at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, to relocate its primary data center. <\/p>\n
The planned maintenance is intended to maintain and improve the agency\u2019s transit technology infrastructure. During the work, several digital passenger services will experience temporary outages. <\/p>\n
The agency\u2019s main website, RidePRT.org<\/a>, is expected to remain accessible, but TrueTime real-time bus and rail arrival information will face potential interruptions alongside third-party applications that rely on agency data.<\/p>\n Pittsburgh Regional Transit customer service phone lines will remain open during the maintenance window. However, representatives may have limited capabilities to assist callers because internal tools will be temporarily unavailable.<\/p>\n Riders may continue to encounter intermittent service or technology disruptions while the maintenance remains underway.<\/p>\n The primary stage of the data center migration is expected to last between seven and 10 hours following the 8 p.m. start time.
