AP – A shooting that rocked a town in Pennsylvania left eight people dead, police said; the suspected shooter also died from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

Authorities didn’t provide more details.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have not seen anything like this in my 28-plus years,\u201d Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah told a local news station. \u201cI\u2019m not sure that the city of Erie has ever seen the loss of life and the devastation that we just witnessed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gov. Josh Shapiro said Saturday he offered his administration’s \u201cfull support\u201d to Erie Mayor Daria Devlin.<\/p>\n

Erie is about 117 miles (188 kilometers) north of Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n

This story corrects that the total number of people found dead \u2014 nine \u2014 includes the suspected shooter.<\/p>\n
