A four-alarm fire swept through a row of attached homes in Allentown<\/a> early Saturday, displacing 16 residents and sending one firefighter to the hospital, the city\u2019s fire department reported.<\/p>\n The fire department responded to the 200 block of South Saint Cloud Street at approximately 1:20 a.m. Arriving crews found an active fire spreading through connected residential structures and searched the buildings while working to contain the spread, the department said in a news release.<\/p>\n As the fire grew, a call went out for mutual aid. Crews from the Bethlehem Fire Department and multiple Lehigh County fire companies assisted in bringing the blaze under control after several hours.<\/p>\n Approximately 45 people were evacuated, and 16 residents were displaced from their homes due to fire, smoke or water damage, the news release said.<\/p>\n The American Red Cross is providing temporary shelter and support services to those affected.<\/p>\n No civilian injuries were reported. One firefighter sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
