New video captures the dramatic moment police crashed into a car to stop a chase suspect from driving away in Washington County. <\/p>\n
There was a large police presence at the scene of the crash in Washington County, where police said a wanted person was arrested after a pursuit on Friday evening.<\/p>\n
Video shared with Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 by Pete La Rose showed the moment police surrounded the vehicle and began yelling at the driver.<\/p>\n
The driver appears to make a getaway attempt, crashing into a sign near the entrance of Lindenwood Golf Club at Galley Road, then turning to continue driving. <\/p>\n
The video then shows a police cruiser hitting the suspect’s vehicle, as police swarm once again. <\/p>\n
Multiple cruisers appear to hit the vehicle, trapping the suspect from escaping as the driver appears to continue hitting the vehicles around it. <\/p>\n
Video from Sky 4, Pittsburgh’s only news chopper, showed the aftermath of the chase<\/a>, including the damage to the suspect’s car and a cruiser.<\/p>\n Looking for more news in your area | Subscribe to the WTAE YouTube Channel<\/a><\/p>\n “A pursuit occurred on Route 19 involving a suspect with an active warrant for aggravated assault,” Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Rocco Gagliardi said in a statement. “Troopers have the suspect in custody. The suspect is being charged with aggravated assault against a police officer, fleeing and eluding, and suspected DUI.”<\/p>\n No injuries were reported. State troopers and officers from North Strabane and Peters Township responded to the incident.<\/p>\n Police have not publicly identified the suspect yet.<\/p>\n This is a developing story.
