killed 8 people, including seven members of his own family, before he died by suicide in Erie.<\/a><\/p>\nThe father of the little girl who died said he’s trying to understand why Matthew Stone, Sr. opened fire.<\/p>\n
“I wouldn’t even put this on my worst enemy, bro. It’s sickening,” said Juicesiyah Alexander Ezekiel, who is still trying to make sense of the senseless killing of his daughter. “Her name is Amari’anna. She’s the most beautiful baby I could have created.”<\/p>\n
According to Ezekiel, Angelina Stone, the mother of his child, was also killed, along with her 5-year-old son and an unborn child that was scheduled to be born on Monday.<\/p>\n
“She was pregnant, about to have her baby in a couple of days, and she had a daughter that was almost two, and her son Isiah, who I believe was like four or five. They were all beautiful children and did not deserve what happened to them,” said Angelina Stone’s Aunt, Lisa Simmers.<\/p>\n
Erie’s Police Chief Rick Lorah says 22-month-old Ameri’anna and 5-year-old Isiah were found on the first floor. Four other victims, including Angelina, the shooter’s wife, and his two adult sons, were found on the second floor in the stairwell.<\/p>\n
“Again, I think that mental health is at play here, but I think it’s too soon to really go into a motive at this time,” said Chief Lorah. He says the investigation indicates that soon after the initial shootings, two women arrived at the house, and the gunman confronted them outside the home where they were both shot and killed.<\/p>\n
“They knew something was going on at that house. We have to figure out what that is. And I think that we’re going to get that through looking at the cell phones,” said Chief Lorah.<\/p>\n
The community has established a memorial at the site, which is being visited by people from all over the area, as Erie tries to understand what would drive a man to turn on his family.<\/p>\n
“What happened will be remembered for years. This is not something the city will ever forget,” said Simmer.<\/p>\n
Police found the suspected shooter deceased on the second floor, and a .40 caliber handgun, which was registered to the suspect, was recovered.<\/p>\n
