PITTSBURGH \u2014 The family of Zachary Smith<\/a> and Pittsburgh police are asking for the public\u2019s help in finding the 30-year-old, who was reported missing from Stroudsburg, PA, last Wednesday. <\/p>\n

Smith\u2019s father, Sid Smith, said his son took a bus from Stroudsburg to New York City and planned to travel to California. <\/p>\n

The bus stopped in Pittsburgh, where Zachary got off at the Greyhound station, his father explained.<\/p>\n

Smith told Channel 11 officers took his son to UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital after an incident at the bus station.<\/p>\n

Staff released him hours later Thursday, his father said. That was the last time anyone reported seeing him.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast we were able to track his phone and his phone has been off; he seems to have gravitated back to the bus station,\u201d Sid Smith said.<\/p>\n

According to his father, Zachary has long brown hair, a red beard, and circular glasses. He is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs about 145 pounds and has blue eyes.<\/p>\n

He was last seen wearing black shoes, sweatpants, and a Champion hoodie, along with a dark green baseball cap. <\/p>\n

His father said he may be walking with a limp.<\/p>\n

His family explained Zachary recently had reconstructive surgery on his hip and has a pin in his leg, fractured ribs and other internal injuries.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re worried he may not be receiving proper care. <\/p>\n

They also say he believes a group of people are out to harm him. Sid believes his son may be moving between the Greyhound station in Downtown Pittsburgh and the psychiatric hospital in Oakland.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just want to know he is safe,\u201d Sid Smith said. \u201cWe want him to either go to a hospital, contact the police and get somewhere safe. It is his birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n

He\u2019s asking anyone who sees Zachary not to approach or try to stop him, but to call 911 or (412) 323-7141.<\/p>\n
