Motorists in Erie County should prepare for a temporary road closure next week as railroad maintenance work gets underway in Summit Township.<\/p>\n

PennDOT says a portion of Robison Road East (Route 4024) will be closed beginning at approximately 6 a.m. on October 20. The closure will affect the railroad crossing located just east of the intersection with Footemill Road near the Summit and Greene Township line.<\/p>\n

The work will be performed by Genesee & Wyoming, Inc., which is scheduled to complete maintenance at the crossing by October 22. During the project, drivers will need to follow a posted detour route.<\/p>\n

The detour will direct traffic along Route 97, Gore Road (Route 4028), and Lake Pleasant Road (Route 1001) before reconnecting with Robison Road East.<\/p>\n

PennDOT is reminding motorists to use caution when traveling through work zones. Officials urge drivers to reduce speed, remain alert to changing traffic patterns, avoid distractions, and follow all posted signs and directions from flaggers.<\/p>\n

Drivers can monitor traffic conditions, road closures, delays, weather forecasts, and live traffic camera feeds through 511PA. The service is available online<\/a>, through its mobile app for iPhone and Android devices, or by dialing 5-1-1.<\/p>\n
