For nearly eight decades, one Erie company has been working behind the scenes to help make events of all sizes a success.

From its humble beginnings renting religious films to churches, Grisé Audio Visual has grown into a full-service production company providing audio, video, and event technology services across the country and around the world.

The company’s story began in 1947 when founder Grisé recognized a need for film rentals between major markets.

“Churches would rent out films, and places you could rent film, there was one in New York City, one in Chicago. And my grandfather thought being in Erie would be right smack in the middle,” said Don Grisé.

As technology advanced, the business evolved. Grisé Audio Visual expanded into the education sector, supplying schools with movie projectors and overhead projectors as audiovisual equipment became a staple in classrooms.

Today, Don Grisé carries on the legacy started by his grandfather and expanded by his father. He oversees a team of 15 employees who work year-round producing and supporting a wide range of events.

“Then we got into schools and calling on schools and selling the schools movie projectors, overhead projectors,” Grisé explained.

The company now provides audio and video services for political events, concerts, fundraisers, conferences, and other large-scale gatherings. Its extensive warehouse houses an impressive inventory of equipment that can be deployed for local events as well as productions around the globe.

Grisé’s work has put the company on some of the world’s biggest stages. Don says the company has provided services for every U.S. president since George H.W. Bush, along with international leaders.

“I’ve done work for every President since George H. Bush on up. We’ve also done world leaders like Gorbachev back in the day from Russia, we’ve done Benjamin Netanyahu from Israel,” he said.

Closer to home, Grisé Audio Visual has been a key part of many familiar Erie events, including the Erie Heart Ball, CelebrateErie, and Eight Great Tuesdays. In addition to live event production, the company also specializes in audiovisual installations and sound systems, continuing a tradition of innovation that has helped it thrive for nearly 80 years.

For nearly eight decades, one Erie company has been working behind the scenes to help make events of…

[12
125579,125581,136,138,137,125578,125577,125580
post-306096","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-erie","tag-audio-visual","tag-company-history","tag-erie","tag-erie-headlines","tag-erie-news","tag-event-production","tag-grise-audio-visual","tag-live-events
["GET
