Prime pumpkin-picking season is happening now in southwestern PA. At these local farms, families can gather some gorgeous pumpkins while enjoying plenty of fall fun.<\/p>\n

Through Oct. 25: Trax Farms Fall Festival. The festival operates on weekends with hayrides, pumpkin picking, a three-acre maze, yard games and farm animals. Festival admission<\/a>\u00a0is free. Hayrides are $12 online, $14 onsite, free for ages 2 and younger.<\/p>\n

Through Oct. 30: Harvest Valley Farms Fall Festival.\u00a0October weekends transform the working farm into a pick-your-own pumpkin festival with a straw tunnel, hayrides, cornstalk maze and corn pit. Live music, food and craft beer will keep the grownups entertained.\u00a0Admission<\/a> is free, though various activities are individually priced.<\/p>\n

Through Oct. 31: Freedom Farms Fall Festival. Visit the farm on October weekends for tractor rides, a challenging corn maze, corn pit, hay mountain, petting zoo and pick-your-own sunflowers, with a Trunk-or-Treat planned for Oct. 25. At Freedom Farms, Military Appreciation Day takes place on Oct. 24, with free admission for military, vets, police, firefighters and EMS workers and their families. And on Oct. 25, moms are admitted free for Moms Appreciation Day. Festival admission<\/a> is $10, free for ages 3 and younger. The Pumpkin Patch, pony rides and face painting are priced separately.<\/p>\n

Through Nov. 1: Fall Fest at Soergel Orchard. Weekends will be programmed with games and activities, tractor rides, flower picking, pumpkin and apple picking, plus great food. Friday night hayrides begin Oct. 2. Weekday afternoons include flower, pumpkin and apple picking. Admission<\/a> is free with individual activities priced separately.<\/p>\n

Through Nov. 1: Simmons Farms Fall Festival.\u00a0Activities include pumpkin, apple and flower picking, a 100-foot mega slide, petting zoo, hayrides, duck races and human hamster wheels.\u00a0Activity wristbands<\/a>\u00a0are $19-$24, free for kids measuring less than 33 inches.<\/p>\n

Through Nov. 1: Triple B Farms Fall Festival. Explore the Big Boo Barn, ride Scootin\u2019 Scooters and play a game of Grain Bin Basketball.
