More returns on Friday with a cold front that will drop our temperatures and usher in a mid-November feel for the weekend. Hopefully the wind does not knock down too many leaves as most of Western PA is now in peak color.<\/p>\n

\"\"Impact Day Friday: Gusty Winds & Rain<\/p>\n

A potent cold front sweeps through the Pittsburgh area, prompting our next Impact Day on Friday. Rain will arrive around noon as the cold front gets here. A few thunderstorms are possible as the front passes Western PA. Gusty winds will be more problematic with gusts of 30 to 40 mph and higher gusts on the ridgetops of the Laurel Highlands. Temperatures will fall through the day with our high occurring in the morning. Rain showers will linger into the evening, bringing a cold, rainy, and windy day for high school football.<\/p>\n

Temperatures plummet behind Friday’s cold front. Many of us will likely stay in the 40s through the day on Saturday. The cold settles in Sunday morning as we wake up in the middle 30s to prompt widespread frost concerns. It is possible the first freeze of the year shows up in the Laurel Highlands, north of Interstate 80, and sheltered valleys.<\/p>\n
