READING, Pa. – Initial reports say a shooting took place in Reading\u2019s Glenside neighborhood on Thursday afternoon around the time that school was letting out across the street.<\/p>\n
Reading Police confirm an investigation has begun amid an active scene in Berks County.<\/p>\n
The incident happened around 4 p.m. in the 600 block of Avenue B in Reading. Upon arrival, 69 News crews on the scene saw armed police, caution tape, fire trucks, and a bus.<\/p>\n
A neighbor told 69 News they heard several gunshots around 4 p.m. and saw a young man on the ground with gunshot wounds in the chest.<\/p>\n
The neighbor additionally says they heard tires screeching soon after the gunshots.<\/p>\n
Witnesses on the scene report the victim was allegedly armed and was given CPR after he was shot.<\/p>\n
Reading Police say the victim has been transported to Reading Hospital and is actively being treated for the gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n
69 News crews confirm that a school bus remains stuck on the road in the middle of the scene. Neighbors say the bus arrived after the shots were fired.<\/p>\n
Neighbors say there were kids nearby when the incident occurred, but police confirm that no one was injured besides the one victim.<\/p>\n
