Pennsylvania State police said multiple people were injured following a wrong-way crash on the Parkway East early Sunday morning. <\/p>\n

Officials said the crash happened around 2 a.m. <\/p>\n

Dispatchers told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that a vehicle was traveling east in the westbound lanes near the Oakland exit when it hit another vehicle head on. <\/p>\n

Both passengers in each car were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The drivers of both vehicles were treated for minor injuries on scene. <\/p>\n

The road was closed for several hours. It has since been reopened. <\/p>\n

State police said an investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
